Бог как иллюзия
Richard Dawkins
I've just finished reading "the god delusion" by richard dawkins, and I feel compelled to write a short review of the book - not a review of the reviews. I rated his book with only two stars: one star for getting it published and one star for his courage to come out of the christian closet and attempt to debunk the age old delusion that someone up in the sky is watching us.
First of all, there are too many words in the book clouding over Dawkins's essential belief that it is absolute silliness to believe in a human-like entity that created and sustains us. Secondly, if a writer truly wants to convey a message to the reader, the writer must be clear and concise; his book is anything but...(this is were i took off three points.) The sentence and paragraph structure made me feel like i was a fossil hunter, sifting through hundreds of pounds of soil for some truly worthwhile evidence (explanation) to support his beliefs. It was exhausting and, in the end, I came away without any new ideas or information as to why religion still exists. On the plus side, however, he was able to convey one of the most important steps toward breaking through the god myth i.e., that believing in any god is a result of early childhood indoctrination, and that we would all do very well to dispense with it. I couldn't agree more.
