Stereology for Statisticians
Adrian Baddeley, Eva B. Vedel Jensen
Stereology is a series of mathematical methods developed for 3D image analysis, which is often called "sampling in 3 dimensions." Stereological methods are used widely throughout the sciences, particularly in the biological, medical and materials sciences. Currently there is no satisfactory resource on stereology for statisticians that deals with the techniques in a practical, applications-oriented way. Written by the pre-eminent statisticians working in the field, and intended for consultant statisticians, biometricians and quantitative scientists who may encounter stereological data in their work, Stereology for Statisticians fills this gap.
