The workshop "Wavelets and Applications", (July 1-6, 2002, Barcelona), organized by the Institute of Mathematics of the University of Barcelona (IMUB), is addressed to students and researchers interested in the very active field of wavelets, either from a pure mathematics point of view (Harmonic and Functional Analysis, Probability Theory, etc.) or also from the perspective of the applications to problems in Signal Analysis or Numerical Methods for PDE's.
